Eden

Eden studios is a residency and teaching space located on Salt Spring Island, on the west coast of British Columbia. Artist residents are chosen through an application and interview process. Residents are selected based on project suitability for the studio and environment. Currently, residents stay in the main house shared with the founder and host. Residents have access to all studios and nine acres of forest and meadows.

  • 400 sqft multipurpose space with concrete floors, multiple workbench areas, large movable work table table, sewing machine, serger, hand tools

  • 300 sqft textile studio located upstairs

  • Weaving equipment includes : four leclerc floor looms (4 shaft), a gilmaka warping mill, bobbin winders, multiple reeds, warping boards, shuttles, bobbins, yarn samples, and many small hand tools needed for weaving

  • Dye kitchen with pots, measuring tools, buckets, hot plates, stainless steel sink, scales, thermometer.

  • Outdoor workspace includes a large flat paved uncovered carport area as well as any suitable space on the property

  • Yarn supplies are available on the island at Jane Stafford Yarns and Materials Orders can be made online and picked up locally
